Help with Horizon Parking Charge Notice please

Hi All
* I have read the newbies guide but would like some advice on the content of the appeal letter/email.
I would much appreciate some advice on 2 X PCN's my wife received from Horizon Parking having used a car park at Brunel Shopping Centre in Milton Keynes. The car park is free after 6pm so after arriving around 17:55 my wife sat in the car until 6pm and then left it parked to go to her fitness class. She thought tickets were only issued by a warden and did not know about the ANPR. The DVLA also held her old address which meant the PCN's got sent to her parents home and we only just received them. One was issued 12th Sept 2017 and the other 25th September 2017 so we're past the 28 day mark for contesting the charge (although it states 28 days OF RECEIVING THIS LETTER, which we could argue that we only just received them).
The reason for my post is due to the content of the appeal letter I found in the newbies forum. Many of the stated reasons for appeal are do not actually apply to our individual case..
e.g signs fail the test of large lettering and prominence (The signs at this car park are large, approx 100 X 80cm)[FONT="]. I'm unable to upload image.
'Should you obtain the registered keepers data from the DVLA without reasonable cause' (The reasonable cause criteria is stated on the PCN as 'pursuing an outstanding parking charge')
My questions are:

Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

My questions are:

- Is it too late for me to send the appeal as it is now past the appeal deadline? There is also more letters arrived at her parents which are most likely the next warning/request for payment
- If appealing, should I amend the draft letter from the newbies forum or just send in it's current format? Excluding large lettering, reasonable cause etc? Or should I just send it as it is because all I need is a POPLA code?
- This one's from my wife.. do these ever go to court and if so, what's the likely outcome?
Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

Send the appropriate appeal from the NEWBIES thread without changing or adding, or removing anything.
You have nothing to lose.
Send it twice - once for each PCN.
Sitting in the car while stationary is still being parked.0 -
follow the above good advice ...
then read through the newbies thread for further advice
good luck
