Renewing insurance & quoting claim cost

When it comes time to renew & answer the question of have you been in an accident, part of the answer is to state what the claim cost.
My wife basically had someone run in to the back of her & their insurance accepted full responsibility & case closed kind of thing.
She called her insurance to ask about the cost of the claim so that we know in advance come renewal time. They had no record of it.
So she called the ones who dealt with it (she claimed through the third parties insurance) - Auxillis.
They said £50 engineers cost & that's it.
Seems unusually low. I know she was paid out something like £100 scrap and £900 for the car.
I'm just wondering if there's likely been a misunderstanding somewhere or since it wasn't her fault is this figure about right for this process?

The wife wrote my car off, I just declared the payout + £1000 to cover possible recovery/disposal costs.
She was at fault, only claiming for our vehicle, no damage to anyone elses vehicle or property.
For yourself, I'd declare what she was paid if asked.0 -

I understand the third party was at fault in our case and all costs were recovered but i thought they would've said something above £50. Just seemed very very small.
My wife's rear bumper was hit & as said the car needed to be written off. The third parties front bumper had come off the clips. Whether clips had been broken i suspect they had but who knows. The headlight was loose so probably broken clips there too. I doubt the slam panel or radiator were damaged but who knows.
And all that for £50? Very odd.
While i'm at it though i'll be cheeky & ask for myself......
I'll call my insurance when it comes time but earlier this year some nutter drove in to me as he was overtaking. When i pulled in to exchange details he sped off.
Story short they've finally got in touch with him & he's denying any knowledge of the accident. Nobody stopped so neither of us have witnesses. My word against his.
So when it comes time to answer the question of "have you been involved in an accident" what happens?
As yes i have, and my insurance will know about it because i called them first.
However if he's denying any knowledge it's obviously going to go no further & it'll be my word against his. His insurers got in touch today and said it'd be "liability unresolved".
So since it in a way 'didn't happen' then did i even have an accident as far as that question goes? Like i say - i did, but the other guy is saying he wasn't involved, so i can't have an accident with a ghost so what then?0
