Following the same path of a number of cases CEL have discontinued just before Christmas. I’m certain it was their ploy to put added pressure on motorists alongside the festive pressures in an attempt to get them to crack and cough! Didn’t work in your case, so it’s out of your hair now.

Also check with the court then. In the past, discontinuation notices have been served on the defendant who has (legitimately) thought it was all over, but the court wasn’t informed by the claimant. Automatic default judgment against the defendant in his/her absence. Then there’s a mess to disentangle.
