When you made the booking you will have agreed to the T&Cs which stateLisa_Foster wrote: »Is this correct or can anyone help me on how I can have my money fully refunded.
"I have read and agree to the Norwegian Holidays – General Conditions for Package Travel, and the Norwegian Air Shuttle – General Conditions of Carriage for the flight portion of the package. Please note that packages purchased from Norwegian Holidays are non-refundable."
why did you think you would be able to get a refund if you cancel?0 -
Just in case, things go bump in the night around here.Lisa_Foster wrote: »I need some help regarding a packaged holiday I had booked back in August 2017 to go on June 2018. I booked this through Norwegian Holidays for the flights and the hotel destination Florida. I have since changed my mind and now want to cancel this holiday. I booked through my mastercard so thought it was safe to cancel as I had paid via my credit card. I have since been told by Lloyds mastercard that I cannot have a refund due to this being a packaged holiday and that I had to take my cancellation to Norwegian holidays. However when I contacted the airline they said they can only refund air port taxes but not anything else so I stand to lose £2000.00 of my money. Is this correct or can anyone help me on how I can have my money fully refunded.

Unfortunately you won't get a full refund, although if they sell your holiday on if you don't take it up is another matter.
I booked a flight with Ebookers to Kenya way back in 2008. The elections there were going on and as common over there the votes were rigged. This caused 'The Troubles' where one tribe were killing the cheating tribe. It was virtually a civil war and I couldn't get from Nairobi to my wife's home town due to boulders and burning tyres blocking the roads. I tried to cancel and get a refund but they refused and allowed only the taxes to be paid back. They probably used my seat as well. The law is heavily and unfairly swayed in the companies' favour.0 -
The law is heavily and unfairly swayed in the companies' favour.
But the law isn't heavily and unfairly swayed in the company's favour! As a consumer we make a conscious decision to book a holiday / flight. Spending several hundred pounds shouldn't be just a whim. We know that we should book holiday insurance from the point of making the booking - in case of unforeseen circumstances. We know that if we book a package holiday with a UK company then we will be ATOL protected in case the company goes bust. Great, we have protection in place. However, if we as the consumer decide to cancel the holiday, then that's our own fault - not the company's. And, if as the consumer we can't get from point A to point B because of civil unrest, again that is not the company's fault - it's just one of those things. Sometimes people just need to own up to their stupidity (in the case of thinking it is okay to expect a refund if they decide not take a holiday that they've entered into a contract for), or in the case of civil unrest - it is one those unfortunate situations where neither the company or the consumer is at fault. No blame.0 -

We can't all be rocket scientists and MENSA graduates and cyber saints matey. It is in their favour if they get twice the money for the same flight or package. In case you haven't noticed this is a consumer support site not a company one.0 -

its neither a company support or consumer support forum, its a CONSUMER RIGHTS forum.
The OP has no rights to a refund and has been correctly advised.
And you dont need to be a MENSA member to read some terms and conditions before parting with £000's, people need to act like adults and take some personal responsibility!0 -
I think the ops been told she can’t get a refund enough now..0
