Hello,
Can anybody tell me how Barclaycard work out the value of a ppi claim please?
My hubby complained to Barclaycard about ppi that was on his Visa card. They wrote back and said that he had also had ppi on a MasterCard with them years ago too which he was unaware of.
He's had a letter to say that they upheld the complaint regarding the MasterCard. They couldn't find details of how much he'd paid so used details of a comparable claim for someone who had ppi for 85 to 96 months. They used the following calculation...
Refund of ppi payments £930.36
Interest charged on ppi premiums £744.44
Statutory compensation £971.59
Income tax deduction £194.31
He's been told over the phone that his Visa complaint has also been upheld and they're working on the figures for that one.
Thanks

Hi Martin and Team
Just wanted to say a big Thanks for keeping reminding us about PPI claims.. I didn't think it was worth investigating as my hubby had passed away in 2013 and most of the PPIs we had were in his name. Contacted Natwest on the off chance and discovered there were 11 PPIs we had signed up for over the past 20 years.... now awaiting cheques to the value of £13000+ so a huge thanks.
And to anyone out there in my situation as a widow/widower - don't be reluctant to challenge if any PPIs were in your spouses'/partners names........... it is worth it!
Thanks Again!0
