We're after primed white MDF skirting for 2 large rooms, is it just as cheap to get it delivered from Wickes/Homebase or is there a cheaper supplier online?
Not after anything fancy, just the standard torus/ogee type

I'd go with the above mentioned sheds - at least you can carefully examine / choose your pieces - buying online you never know exactly what you're going to get... !0

Try Travis Perkins and Jewsons - I played the two off against each other last year and got skirting board at (from memory) around £2.50 per metre. Didn't like the primed MDF, so went for solid wood. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -

used this company to buy skirting for a house renovation. was over 120meters then lots of architrave.
Excellent experience. Prompt delivery. Was all primed. Fitted well. Looks lovely fitted.
this was my experience 1 year ago. Would happily used again.
The stuff I saw in the sheds was poorer quality0 -
I've replaced a lot of skirting and architrave in my house and I bought all of it from https://www.skirting4u.co.uk - very happy with the price and the primed finish (beware lots of dust when you unwrap it).
No prep needed other than dusting off, maybe with a tack cloth/lightly damp cloth to remove dust. After mine was fitted I filled any fixing holes, gave it a single acrylic undercoat and finished with two top coats of eggshell.0 -

Whereas with the big sheds you at least know in advance that what you get will probably not be very good and poorly stored.0 -
I always seem to get good prices from my local builders merchant. Give your local a call and they will likely order it in and deliver much cheaper than the well known stores.
It's worth a quick call just to see if you could make a saving.0 -

We used this company too last year, we had it fitted by the decorator doing the room and he was really impressed with the quality.
They also send out samples which was really helpful when we were choosing the height we wanted, and offer an option for routing - .either for pipes or cables, our internet cable is nicely tucked away now.
Good choice of lengths as well to minimise required joins.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

That's exactly what I would do but I work in the trade and know that both companies buy their skriting from manufacturers and sell it on for a large mark-up. The company I work for sell MDF and hardwood skirting board to both of those companies at around £1.70 PM (£7.50 for a 4.4M board).
Tip: Try to go direct to manufacturers rather than big traders as they always have a lower price - Also, ask if they have any 'returns' as we probably get 2-3 orders of returns meaning a lot of meterage in a select size and profile for a great price!~ Always exploring ~0
