Decent budget non-stick frying pan?

Can anyone recommend a low-cost non-stick frying pan that doesn't require oil to fry eggs/pancakes, and which retains its non-stick properties for a decent length of time? Ideally something lightweight, to make the pancake flipping easier.
I made the mistake of falling for the Berghoff Eurocast demo at the Ideal Home Show, and their pans only last 2-3 uses before needing to be re-treated using warm oil.

I'm quite pleased with the Tower frying pan that I purchased recently.. I don't do eggs (horrible smelly things), nor pancakes (yet). It may be a bit heavy for some, but I wanted something with a bit of weight and had to work on an induction hob.
In use, I put a small drop of oil in, and when stuff does burn, it cleans off very easily. An overnight soak is enough for the real bad burns.
For pancakes, I'd probably give the pan a wipe with an oiled cloth regardless of any claims made by the manufacturer. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Can't beat a tefal in my opinion. I have 3 in total (One large, one small and one griddle) all are used excessivly. I tend to replace them every 18-24 months or so due to the inevitable scrapes and scratches they get.

I bought a Tefal frying pan for a good price (about a fiver) at The Range last week-end - it's light, well-made and niceNslippery - Tefal have been making Teflon-coated products since forever and so must be getting the hang of it by now!0

my tefal pan is over 10 years old now and its still in good condition.0 -
My wife bought one of those white ceramic frying pans that were heavily advertised a few years ago, even with oil in things stick so went back to a John Lewis pan that we have had for a few years, works well with spray oil but is very heavy.
Might try a Tefal after reading the above posts.0 -
We have some Circulon frying and saucepans and they are really good. They must be around six years old now, and are still non stick, although you need to season them from time to time, by putting a little sunflower oil in the bottom and coating the surface.
I think the large frying pan was £20 from TKMax.0 -
+1 for a Circulon, not the cheapest but a winner in the non-stick game. Also got mine cheap from TK Maxx, which is generally great for kitchen stuff on the cheap.0

Have a look in big department stores as they will often have sets on sale. My wife recently picked up some Circulon pans half price, I think it was about £65 for two (24cm and 30cm I think). Seems decent so far.0

Thanks for the suggestions. Tefal should know what they're doing, having been doing it for so long, but I've read several reports about the non-stick surface not lasting very long. The Tower range looks interesting too - I'd be curious to know how it deals with an egg fried without oil.
Circulon looks a bit too pricey for me - I'm still smarting from spending £55 on the Berghoff pan that turned out to be non-stick for about 15 minutes.
Interestingly, I've seen alot of good things written about the Ikea Kavalkad non-stick pans, which are insanely cheap (I could have bought more than a dozen of them for the price I paid for the Berghoff). I can't help but think that I'd have nothing much to lose from trying one.0 -
I find toughened non-stick aluminium pans to be the best, much better than Teflon on similar coatings. Most of mine are Le Creuset so not cheap but I do have another (can't remember what brand) that I picked up in TK Maxx and while it's obviously not as well made or nice to use the non-stick holds up well.
Any reason for not wanting to use oil? I tend to use FryLight spray.0
