Need advise on what to do after my motor accident with a bus.
My situation is a bit complex and I am hoping someone can help advise me on what to do. I recently bought a car, and as a young driver I found it difficult to get cheap car insurance. One of my friends suggested I use an insurance broker they have used to purchase insurance, as they can "get me prices I can't get". So I contacted this person, and asked them how they get cheap insurance. The guy told me he has connections with people who work in insurance companies so he can get me discounts. My gut was telling me not to trust him but stupidly I did. I ended up paying him a 350 admin fee and he managed to get me insurance that was cheap...
We fast forward a couple of days later and I was involved with an accident with a bus. I was travelling straight in lane 2, approaching a set of lights. About 15 meters before the lights there is a side road. I was approaching these lights and as I was, I noticed a bus in the side road. Simultaneously the lights turned red, so I came off the throttle.I was travelling at 30 mph and about 30 meters from the light. I then looked into the side road again, then at this point I realised the bus was approaching the give way line pretty fast. I knew the bus was not going to stop, so I slammed the breaks. As my car grinded to a hault the bus came out of the side road to my left and made a right turn accross me. As the bus did he hit the right side of my car, damaging my bumper, headlight and grill. The bus driver apologised to me, saying he saw me slowing down so he thought he can make the turn. He gave me his details and that was that.
Then on the 23/10/17, my insurance policy documents arrived, when I looked at them I saw descrepencies in the proposal. So I called my insurer reported the incident, and told them I don't want to claim as the bus company told me, if liability is with themselves they will pay for repairs and a courtesey car. I then went on to tell them about the descrepencies on my policy, like I had held my licence for 1 month, instead of 1 year as stated on my policy. My policy also said that I was a teacher when in fact I wasn't. So the so called "insurance broker" basically gave false information to get me the cheap insurance. I told my insurance company that I did not make the insurance application and it had been done by someone else. So i went through everything and they ammended all the discrepencies, after we did that, I was told my insurance premium would be different as a result. The person I was speaking to then put me on hold as he worked out my new premium, after a few mins of waiting, he then said because of all the discrepencies they will be cancelling my insurance and will not cover me for the accident with the bus.
So right now what does this mean for me ? Will I be prosecuted for not having insurance at the time of the accident ? Even though at that moment in time I did. Will the bus company sue me ? Will I lose my license for driving without insurance, as I am still in my probationaey period where if I get 6 points thats my license gone. Does anyone know what I should do ? And if I have any chance of getting my car repaired by the bus company ? Also the bus company is unaware that I am not insured, should I tell them ? Or will that make them shift the blame onto me ?
Sorry guys for the longgg story, but yeah if anyone could share any advice with me, it would be really appreciated. Many thanks

First, dont worry about the accident. If the bus company have admitted liability then all should be well. Whether you were insured or not makes no difference.
Sorting things out for the future will be more complex. More expert people on here will advise. In the meantime, think - did you sign a proposal form, and did it have those discrepancies?0 -
you will have to declare to future insurers that you have had insurance cancelled in the past. This will add a significant amount to premiums.0

Was the insurance broker a bona fide broker or was it a ghost broker eg some dodgy guy from gumtree or facebook0

Does it?

Op is in dire straits which are not going to ease in the short to mid-term
He sees some of his errors already.
Others are being sensibly posted for him to absorb.
I hope this Thread keeps strictly on this track.
Op - some gritty motoring, £+life lessons here. I am sorry, but sense you have the integrity to recognise and learn from them.
This WILL all pass, altho' it is costing you already and will do so for some time yet

Op - in future, at insurance renewal/take up time, come straight here to mse and go through Martin's hoops for best policy/£.
Do not go by friends' talk.
You know this now. Some part of you knew it anyway, when you saw those discrepancies (note spelling), so I'll shush. It will all come right, but not immediately. I hope you have a paper or recorded trail of bus driver's words. Remember, he may be subject to job-retaining and/or employer pressure.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

No, they refused to pay for the accident because of the 'discrepancies', but they would have been obliged to settle any 3rd party claims prior to cancellation.0
