Painting using strong smelling paint

Hi,
I am going to paint some furniture and I am planning on using Zinsser B.I.N. primer, which I have read is really strong smelling. I am highly sensitive to smells and unfortunately won't be able to do it outside so will only have a window open.
I was wondering if there is such a thing as a mask that can diffuse the smeel somehow (I realise this may be the daftest question :rotfl:). I know you can get masks for dust etc so hoping someone might have invented one for stinks too!
Thanks in advance.

Thank you.
I have just found this. I think it might be worth a go as it will likely only be used for this.
I think it's the right thing, but appreciate any advice if it's not.

Surely the house is going to stink for days after you paint the chair. Are you going to wear a respirator for all that time?0

Bin dries in 15 minutes and is recoatable in 45 so it's unlikely.0 -
I don't remember BIN's smell being particularly long lasting last time I used it. It does the job it's designed for well but don't overwork it - it's a horrible paint to use.0

As others have said, I read that it doesn't last that long and at least once it's done, I can shut the door on it with the window in the room open, which should help.
I am extremely sensitive to smells to the point they can make me sick and give me a migraine, so I shall need to try something while I am doing it it. It isn't so bad once it's shut away, but during will be testing!
I shall give the Amazon one a go. For that price, it's worth a try. And it gets good reviews (although I do take Amazon ones with a pinch of salt).0 -

In what sense is it horrible? Does it not go on well? I am attempting to use it to paint some of the laminate style Ikea furniture (using the BIN as primer). Will save us about £100 and a lot of hassle trying to take the stuff we have already apart. It's for my daughter's bedroom (pre teen) and although not the nicest of furniture, it's done its job well. We've already had it 8 years and it's like new!0 -
Used two colours of Valspar vinyl to paint large walls a week ago... the Sky Blue smelt faintly of ammonia, but the Teal didn't smell at all!0

It's horrible to work with compared to normal paint because it starts to dry very quickly and if you keep going over it it you'll just start taking it off again and making a mess.
I've used it to both prime brown uPVC windows (interior) so I could paint them white and I've also used it to prime the cut edges of some MDF cabinets I made and got good results in both cases.
My advice would be to try and slap it on neatly but as quickly as you can. You're just aiming for relatively even coverage. It will look awful after the first coat but that's fine. Give it an hour and then lightly sand it (it sands really easily so use a medium to fine grit and go easy) to smooth it off and take off any nibs. The second coat should go on more evenly - same as before get it on quickly and once it's fully dried, give it another light sand. Wipe the whole thing with a tack cloth to remove any dust.
At this stage it should be ready for an undercoat suitable for whatever your final finish is. As I was using acrylic eggshell on the uPVC windows, I gave them a single coat of Leyland trade acrylic primer/undercoat, then two finish coats of eggshell. I gave the surface a very light sand after each coat except the final one with progressively finer grit sandpaper. If you take your time you should get a very smooth finish, especially if you use a good mini roller on any large flat surfaces.0
