Alcatel Pixi 4 - Phone Pass Code

Hi

Last Christmas I bought my Dad the above phone. I set the phone up for him to use, but sadly he ended up in hospital straight after Christmas and didn't come home again.

I put the phone away in the drawer and that's where it's been ever- since. I've decided to use the phone, just put it on charge and it's asking for a pin number to enter the phone.

There is no way I would have put a phone lock code on as that would have been too complicated for my dad. I can't find any paperwork/instructions.

Anyone know how I can get into the phone please?

Many thanks

As it sounds like there's no data on there that you would want to keep, you could try a hard reset - on some Android phones it's not this easy but I think on that phone it may be.

First turn the phone off completely. Then turn it on by holding in the Power button and the Volume Up button. Hopefully this will bring up the Android recovery menu and you can choose the Wipe Data/Factory Reset option.

It's that easy on all android phones. It's a standard function. May be named different on older phones but is still there.

Not on my Moto G4 it isn't! It just goes through a repeated poweroff/poweron cycle, so it seems Lenovo have intercepted it (maybe so you can't root it? I'm not sure why).

Huh? What has Lenovo got to do with a Motorola Moto G4?

Anyway, booting into the Fastboot/Recovery menu is easy on the Moto G4:
