Sky + software update problem

Today, I was watching a recorded programme and the following message box popped up
“ A new software update has been downloaded. System needs to be rebooted. Please press OK to continue. Software version : v.2.36.3.0 New version V.2.41.6.0
YES. LATER
The yes is highlighted to imply that if I press it, the system will be rebooted. Except that nothing happens when I press yes. Or if I try to toggle to later. The message box doesn’t disappear. I turned the box off, the back on again, at first all was ok, then the message reappeared. I rebooted the box ( off at the wall, wait, turn on, wait again ) and the same thing happened. I did this twice more, then rang Sky. Lady took me through this all again, same thing. Then she took me through the services menu to setup, rebuild at which point the message box disappeared again and she rang off. All seemed to be well for 5 mins, then the blasted message popped up again. I lack the will to ring them back again now ! It’s too late, although I dare say it’s the early hours of the morning in Sky land. Has anyone any idea how to solve this?

Sounds like you need a new decoder I'm afraid.0

Don't pay Sky's repair fee. Get a second hand Sky box free or a couple of quid off freecycle/eBay/Facebook selling sites and swap it over, or threaten to leave Sky if you're out of contract.0
