I was promised a target driven bonus in my present job, but the boss reneged on it, as he did with all the other staff.
No pay increase either.0 -

Both bonuses are performance related, generally about 80 - 90 percent of the staff get them. If we have an under performer then they are excluded from that as are new members of staff, bonuses are given after a year of employment. Not everyone receives the same amount high performers 2.5 percent reducing to 1 percent.
Same with pay rises, we give them every year but pending on performance. Both are decided in partner meetings where we discuss each member of staff and agree together.
It would be very time consuming to do performance related pay for truck drivers, none of them are really ever late, they have good attendance, don't annoy the customers, all but one hands his paperwork in without reminders, so our is a flat bonus and we think of it as a thankyou really.0 -
I work for a bank and used to get them quarterly depending on my and my departments performance. Since 2011 I’ve gone onto the annual bonus scheme which is paid in March and can be 5 to 10% of annual salary again depending on performance. I’m expecting good things for March 2018.
Prior to this I always worked in retail and think I’ve had a bonus scheme since leaving school in 1991, only one company didndy have one so I’ve had a bonus every year except 2000 to 2004. Certainly motivates me.0 -
The only proper bonus I've ever had was when I worked as a mortgage advisor, and it was just commission from my sales the previous quarter. And when I left, they didn't pay me the commission for the final quarter!
For a while, I worked in a particularly well-off call centre (American company) that used to do stuff for morale like order a load of pizzas in, or hire out a bar and serve free booze all night, and they used to have a particularly debauched weekend away every year where nominally, staff went to do something good for the community, like clearing some waste ground or something, but realistically, they just got p*ssed every night and caused chaos.
Oh, and as a student I worked part-time in a brewery and got a couple of crates of beer a month for free.
Nowadays I'm NHS so no chance basically. Never worked anywhere where you get anything for Christmas or financial year end.0 -
We have a bonus structure which goes from 5% of annual salary to 25% of annual salary depending on your position. This pays out in May and is based on individual performance and behaviour and company performance. It has always paid out but is discretionary so no guarantee.
We also used to have a long term incentive plan but as the company has been bought and sold this seems to have disappeared, again performance related.
Apart from that we have a summer and Christmas party for all staff, social club and we do get a Christmas gift which ranges between a voucher (for most staff) to a hamper for the senior staff0 -
I work in an IT role, and get an annual bonus worth between 5% and 10% of salary.
It's nice to have, but it is based on a complex, frequently-changing set of corporate and personal performance measures. In practice, the amount I receive might just as well be determined by a random number generator.
Also, some of the objectives that need to be met, such as "make sure that 55% of your department's staff are off-shore by the end of the year" are demotivating.0 -
I get a 10% bonus every September pay.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

We get 10% if we hit our financial target for the year.0

I have worked with my current employer 5 years. I had a £500 bonus just after Christmas in year one, nothing since and certainly no pay rise.
I work in Hospitality sector, we do get a chocolate Father Christmas on Christmas Eve, is this a bonus ?0
