My experience of PE signs in Asda is that they are far too wordy and a lot of the T&C is in very small print.

People do not want to spend 10 minutes reading a parking sign, they want to pop in, buy their Foie Gras and Petrus, and pop out.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

I find that Corney & Barrow have a slightly wider range of availability than does my local Asda.

Anyway, I thought you’d upped your dining game, given your recent treats for the memsahib at McDonalds? :)

And you wonder why the country is now infested by PPCs. Everywhere you go, new signs are sprouting up.

So I presume you have no sympathy for those at that car park who have inadvertently fallen foul of the parking regime and are worried sick by the harassment being inflicted on them? Not everyone has the resilience to argue it out with the store, so end up losing out to the PPC’s intimidation.

I think that's slightly harsh. I was parking in the car park as a legitimate customer of ASDA. However, if the machine closest to me is out of order, I am not prepared to go on a wild chase to find a functioning machine.

I have additionally pointed out several errors with their parking (they allow free parking between 4:30PM and 8AM for example, no ticket at all required (this is on huge banners across the front of the shop), between 8 am and 4:30PM a ticket is required at either 50P for 2 hours or £1 for 3 hours. It is a token gesture. You get back the value of your parking ticket by tearing off the "refund" strip and handing it to the cashier at the checkout provided you spend over £5). The machine state charges apply at ALL TIMES and refunds are only available between 8 and 4:30. Despite this going against ASDA's own signage (and they own the car park!). When ASDA bother to instruct their client to update their machines and signs I will be more inclined to make more of an effort. Frankly though it's a faff.

The car parking charge was only brought in because the shopping centre ASDA is attached to introduced parking charges for their car parks.

I don't understand how me not being bothered enough to walk to 2 or 3 machines to find a working one, to pay a charge which will be immediately refunded to me, is somehow meaning that I have no sympathy for people who are ticketed and get scared and pay-up. I also don't see how it reflects on why PPCs are infesting everywhere...the charge is IMMEDIATELY REFUNDED. It's a waste of everyone's time.

ASDA equally used to provide a change machine to use at the machines but they even took that away...so if you don;t have a 50p coin or a £1 coin you're unable to pay for parking anyway...so you need to go into the shop and get change...by that time the ticket may ave already been slapped on!

They signed for the appeal letter on 27th Oct and sent out a reminder the next day. They had better not have ignored it!
