Phillips Customer Care

Options
I bought a Phillips iron from Curry's about 6 months ago but noticed yesterday it developed a fault. I had an online chat with Phillips who tried to solve issue over the phone but despite all their endeavours nothing helped.

They then requested the 4 digit serial no. of the iron and proof of receipt. Unfortunately I could not find the receipt. However they said on this occasion they would make an exception and send a replacement as I had provided the serial no. and the replacement isn an upgrade on the existing model. Also they did not want the iron back.

Now that is what I call excellent customer service. Also if I had gone down the Curry's route they would have done nothing for me.

Just be aware that by not even contacting Currys you may have lost any of your consumer rights against them by accepting a replacement of a different model directly from Philips. If they would have just directed you to the manufacturer you will be fine but if they would have dealt with it in house then you may not be.

Appreciate your comments. The original iron only cost about £39.00 and the replacement is about £70.00 so a chance worth taking. Also the even better news its being delivered tomorrow.
