New employer wants to do a credit search, worried it will ruin my chances

  • I’m starting out in credit collections but will be working my way into forensic accounting which is what my career goal is!
  • I wish you the best of luck.

A payment plan direct with the lender should be ok. Try not to worry too much (hard I know), but if it's that long ago, they'll probably be satisfied that it's not an issue.

It always harder to explain why you didn't tell them if they ask.

If you're 100% honest from the start, it can't be used against you later!

I assumed PWC was a typo, and he meant PCW (PC World). I was wondering !!!!!! has a credit check gotta do with a job in PC world. Based on your responce tho, it's not. !!!!!! is PWC and what does they do?

"PC World" and "amazing company" don't belong in the same sentence! (except this one)

God dam right! That is also why I was baffled by the OP.
Sometimes my advice may not be great, but I'm not perfect and I do try my best. Please take this into account.

My IP has been blocked from google and numerous search engines. Bing works but its shi.

That's a load of rubbish, there is no way Google and numerous search engines have blocked you by IP. Even if they did you could just restart your router and get a new one.

Also that website linked doesnt help me figure out exactly what it is they do, altho I'm not gonna search in depth when I can just ask someone who knows for the gist of it.

Never understand the reason for telling someone to google it. Just answer the question. I mean we could google most things if we know the right search terms. Just where do we draw the line between making use of a web forum or use of a search engine? and why does it matter what method is used?

It's not difficult to work out what you need to search for when your trying to find information on a company... how about trying the company name for a start!.

You should always use a search engine whenever you have a question and you should be able to get answers to most simple questions such as locations, contact details, abbreviations, what a company does etc.

Forums are for more in-depth questions with a lot of details which may have a variety of answers or require a discussion or where you seek opinions or analysis. But some questions may have been answered previously on forums so that's why you should always search first!

Ironically the question of when to use a search engine or a forum is a suitable topic for a forum!.

My understanding of checks like this is they don't see much. Is not a score they see, but just whether you have been declared bankrupt or have ccj's. My credit score was just 94. Yep didn't even realise that was possible! But even at that low, I was deemed fine to rent a house because I don't have ccj or bankruptcy. I am on a debt plan ( not iva) but that doesn't show up.
  • It's an ID fraud prevention checker as well, risk profiling and that you've not fabricated your background. That you live where you say you live etc. Of course there is much more to it then a score. I'm quite sure there are many factors other then looking for bankruptcy and CCJ's. Size of Firm. Added to which this is through an 'agent' who'll want to ensure their commission so of course they are best placed to make it work, come what may, after all this isn't even the 'firm direct'. The bigger the organisation or more parties involved, the better for details to not appear or that's the risk you take.

I know I'm getting old and cynical but it's Always quite an irony how these exceptional jobs have a start date quite far away... I just imagine 'lucky people' get to start their new jobs skint and probably in debt hell if not already, so it makes little difference.

Could you or I spend nearly 4 months out of work Fireflyaway compared to a 22 year old? How do you not see the difference.

Search engine searches often lead to forum posts. In any case I have no issue with answering simple questions posted on a forum, even if they are common questions. Such questions on a forum are like cars on a road. Roads are for driving on and you will inevitably come across crap cars.
