Insurance renewal with AGEAS

I was with AGEAS (Age Concern Insurance) for a few years with renewals always being in my favour for my car. Then one year I wanted to renew with 70% no claims bonus and decided it was too expensive. So I rang them and started to haggle. I was told point blank they don't haggle and that it was the original quote or nothing. So I went elsewhere at almost half of the AGEAS quote, fully comprehensive with all the same additions as I had with AGEAS. I stuck with my new insurer which was AVIVA through Tesco for the next couple of years. Then on renewal this year, I compared and still found AVIVA the cheapest. I looked at AGEAS again and still found them too expensive. So I stuck with AVIVA. Age Concern AGEAS are supposed to look after the elderly. I'm 73 and I find that AGEAS is a rip off. So if you decide to insure with them, just be careful at renewal time. I found the same with house and contents insurance as well.

SAGA are similar. Parents used them for a year and the renewal was double.
Try and go online to get a better quote and it says see your renewal. A bit of playing with the name and address and the quote was a LOT cheaper.
But they wont budge on the price.

Sneaky of them to block you getting alternative quotes though. But it also prevents you getting quotes if you wanted to change something like adding another driver etc.
