Is it actually worth the hassle, switching bank accounts etc.?

I remembered that my wife had a current account in her name that is no longer used, as all our money now goes through joint accounts, so I suggested that she switch it to a Clydesdale account for the £250.
I also remembered that I had one as well, never been used in over 5 years but I checked online and can sign in to both of them.
She said that we weren't that hard up that we had to go through all that to get £250, as we had over £20,000 in savings and she wan't going to sign anything.
No problem, as I can write her signature quite well :rotfl::rotfl:
Then she started to moan about the £3 a month for the Halifax reward account as I said we will need to get some more DDs from somewhere with her having to now use two separate credit cards instead of one.
Is it worth the hassle she screamed at me as she flounced off to the kitchen to make me a cup of coffee.
Then I got to thinking, is it worth the hassle for £3 a month and changing bank accounts that will never be used for another £250 that will never be noticed in the great scheme of things.
Especially at my age.

It's entirely subjective - some will feel it's worth the hassle and others won't!0

It depends. If you:-
(a) have plenty of time
(b) are familair with online banking (in my experience all banks use a similar system, with a few differences here and there)
(c) are well-organised (keep a record of everything you do, account numbers, dates etc)
(d) pay very close attention to the terms and conditions
(e) read these forums daily for tips and pitfalls
(f) are patient (you have to wait for your money, usually about 60 days all in, but could be less)
you will do fine. It's actually quite fun at times. The money is just a bonus. You are beating the banks in a very tiny way.0 -
I'll do it for you and pay you £50. If you have enough money/cant be botherd/it's hassle........!0
