Scanning a document.

I need to send a pdf scan of my passport Id page.

I’m sat here with a MacBook Pro, a digital camera and my passport.

Anyone know how I should proceed?

Back in the (very) old days there were scanners but not seen one in years.
Thanks.

Put on a flat surface ... take digital photo - check it is legible, crop to size and save as pdf .

Take the digital photo, paste it into Word & save as pdf.
Not wholly simples, but absolutely doable.

Best of luck & let us know how it goes?

    Thanks all...

Have done the above and got a resulting size file of 1.5mb the max should be 1mb.

I’ve been into Apple image preview to reduce the size but nothing will make it budge from being 1.5mb despite it telling me that the resulting image size will be 517k. I freaking hate Apple!!

Any ideas? Don’t want my application rejected as I’ve only got thill late next week.

I second this - I thought (nearly) all printers these days included scanner/copier functionality

I also would watermark it with the name of the company/organization you have to send it to.
