Help with Zurich House Insurance

Wondering if anyone can help with a query regarding Zurich Home Insurance, as we had a nice surprise in the night with our living ceiling falling down:eek:
Our boiler had leaked and as we slept sounding the ceiling decided it could not take any more and fancied a trip to see the floor via, the TV, DVD, PS2,and the lovely next TV cabinet (which as you can imagine was not a cheap item) Wall, curtains, rug & floor....also the water decided it fancied going on this trip to !!!! Of all the places the ceiling could fall in it just decided to go for it over the top of our entertainment area.....in the corner of the room (which is directly under the area where our boiler cupboard in the bedroom is located)..
Called Zurich when they opened this morning and someone has rang us from an assigned company to advise they would be coming next TUESDAY !!! to assess the damage...
Has anyone had any dealings with Zurich? How will they go about replacing the damaged items, will it be specified shops with vouchers or cash? They will have to re-decorate the part of the wall and ceiling that has been effected which is about 7ft by 5ft but will they try and match the paper up or will they redecorate the whole room? Don't really want to end up with a patchwork room?
Also will they pay for the cream ( or should i say now shade of grey) leather suite we have that was also close enough to be splattered with the nice morter and water paste that fell?
any advice would be greatly apprecaited...
(from a sad person watching a small portable TV due to this)

For that amount of damage I'd be suprised if you dont have a loss adjustor out. Normal settlement for this sort of thing-
Electrical items will be replaced by a supplier (some replace directly, others give vouchers)
Suite will probably be cleaned
Resoration company will make sure property is dry
You'll have to get quotes if they cannot restore the suite and the stand.
In this case they would normally redecorate the entire room if it is that noticable, although the may try and say that their liability ends with the damaged areas (which is does technically).0 -
thanks, if they only decorate the affected area will they have to ensure that it is inkeeping with the rest of the room?
The loss assessor is coming out next week.DMP No: 293Light bulb moment 1st April 2009
