Replace cooker hood for range cooker hood

Hi,
Would like to have a standard size cooker hood changed for a larger range cooker hood, current one is hardwired and externally vented through the ceiling to outside.
What would you expect to pay for this to be done, could it be an easy DIY job? i.e. Isolate electric, remove mains, remove hood from wall?
The top of the hood goes into a wooden box and the new range cooker would be more to the left of this. Would I just make a new bit of boxing?
Thanks in advance.
