Cooker hood size problem

We are looking for a canopy hood to go inside the top box (cupboard) on our new kitchen. The problem is the hob below will be 60cm and every hood that is listed at 60cm is actually 52cm ??

Thanks in advance for replies

    I see 520mm, 600mm, 700mm, and 900mm wide ones listed..

One at random - https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/btel60x/baumatic-btel60x - Overall width is 600mm.

If you have to put the hood in a 60cm cabinet, it will be narrower than 60cm

This isnt necessarily a problem as long as the hood is properly sized, correctly installed and most importantly the recommended clearances from the hob observed.

  • We need a canopy style one not a telescope. So am I right In thinking that the ones that are listed on the websites at 60cm but then in the description actually say 52 or 54cm are actually 60cm
  • I see 600mm, 700mm, and 900mm wide ones listed..popular variable

A canopy hood will always be smaller than a telescopic or standard chimney hood. They are usually 52 or 53cm.

This doesn't cause any problems with being used over a 60cm hob, as the actual width of the cooking zone on the hob will be under 60cm anyhows.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
