Shower near window in wet room?

We are replacing our shower room. The best plan aesthetically has the UPVC window being within the shower area. The plumber says he often does this and a waterproof blind along with a slightly sloped window ledge solves the problem.

Has anyone any experience of this? I'd wondered about replacing the window with one with an integral blind but would the handle or hinges etc mind getting a bit wet?

Doesn't anyone have experience of upvc window getting wet on inside of house?:(

ours is near , i have a shower curtain across the window so it doesn't matter if it gets wet, we also have had a new window sill and it is different to the other windows (won't absorb water?) its not ideal though (i hate my bathroom)

There won't be any problems as long as you thoroughly dry the window and surround after every shower.

our shower enclosure has a upvc window in it. Fitter sealed around window reveal tiles and sloped the cill to drain the water. All works fine.

PVC is the stuff they use in plumbing pipes. Im fairly confident its ok getting wet.

Thanks so much everyone for your replies.

I know the upvc will be ok getting wet but I was concerned about the window's handle/lock. I feel easier about it now, it really is the best option for a small space, the alternative being a quadrant shower which I'm not too keen on!
