Boiler Noise When Off

Hi there I've recently had my combi boiler serviced and the man said he found no problems, good stuff. About a fortnight or so later I started noticing this noise. Its a single loud noise which I can hear in the other rooms. Sounds like a clicking/Switching noise and happens several times a day. The thing is I switched off the electricity to the boiler completely and its still making the noise. Any ideas

Its a Vokera compact 28 SE

Well if it's not electro mechanical, it must be purely mechanical.

Did he, I wonder, take any parts off and not reinstate them properly? Maybe something near the outlet that is getting moved by the wind?

When it makes that noise, is the boiler actually off or has it been off for a while? i.e. is the system more or less cold when it makes the noise? If the system had been on earlier, maybe it's contraction of metal that's making the clicking noise. But why that should have started now is curious. Again, maybe something not put back just right?

The only thing I can suggest is sitting near the boiler to try to narrow down the source of the noise.
  • I've had the power to the boiler off since last night and has spend the evening in the room where it is. At the moment I have not heard anything except random noises you'd expect, but nothing as loud as I'd heard before. The wind kicked up a bit and there was a slight noise from the boiler, but not that loud either. I will turn the boiler back on tomorrow and see if the noise happens.
  • This will make you laugh. The noise is from the kettle which makes a loud click a while after its been used. Since I found this out I've been continuing to listen, but cannot identify any regular noise from the boiler. There is a noise that seems related to one of the hot pipes contracting so maybe fitted to tight somewhere and I head a noise when the wind was strong. Basically....Ignore me its the kettle.
