hi does anyone know if you can get minecraft downloaded for free somewhere? My son was in the middle of downloading something without my knowing, and I'm not sure if it was safe, so stopped it, and I told him I'll find out if there is one he can use. Thanks in advance.

https://minecraft.net/en-us/download/
But obviously its a commercial piece of software and may only run as a trial until you buy it.0
