Hello, I wondered if somebody could help please. I had the following messages when I turned on my computer:

RUNDLL
Error loading cmicnfg.cpl
The specified module could not be found

Ad-Watch Event Log
Internal error. Sites files missing or corrupted.

Plus I have hundreds of adverts popping up everywhere.

cmicnfg.cpl seems to be connected to an on-board media/sound card. But I don't think that would directly produce an Ad-Watch event log ....

Sounds like you need a thorough scan - virus, sypware etc - in safe mode.

Try those first ..

Ok thanks. I've tried Norton and it has thrown up Adware.Lop. Delete Failed. I've read through the other posts, but I'm thoroughly confused

Might be worth installing and running a scan with a malware/anti trojan etc etc blah blah thing like a2 from http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/
For longer term protection try installing Intrusion Detection software like https://www.prevx.com
