Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, and welcome to the newbie.
Dull but windy, have the towels in the washer, fingers crossed they will dry, am hoping to get the wet room toilet and bedroom done this morning, did not manage it yesterday. WE are both feel very tired. OH spent all morning yesterday moaning about his headache, thankfully, it went off after lunch, its driving me nuts, especially as I do not feel up to the mark myself.
No idea whats for tea, it may well be one of the freezer dinners unless I can pull myself together a bit.
Hope Frank came through his op on JackieO.0 -
Good morning all,
Damp and dark morning today. I seem to be one of the few who actually enjoy winter. I think that's because for me, during my childhood, Christmas was always a special time of the year. My parents weren't well off - far from it - but they made ends meet so that the arrival of Santa was super exciting. So these dark days are quite exciting for me. Also, I've grown to enjoy running in the rain. It seems to give me extra determination, knowing that others would decided to keep their trainers tucked away when it's cats and dogs.
Anyway, I've not many plans tonight. In fact, I'll start packing. Flights are at 4am on Thursday and I'm working on Wednesday night.

Morning everyone,
Thinking of you Hollyharvey and sending hugs xx
JackieO - sending positive vibes to Frank x
Welcome creative gal x
tru - so jealous of the spa house!
I rang the docs yesterday but they told me to ring again today for a Weds or Thurs appointment. Thanks for the advice on writing things down. I will definitely do this, even just to refer to in the appointment. You are all so lovely, thank you for listening to me x
Today is my last day in the office this week. DH is hoping to be off on Thursday and Friday too. I have the dentist booked for tomorrow. Bought a homemade cake at a craft fayre on Saturday and they had left a ceramic baking bead in it, so I have chipped a tooth! I am going for a check up anyway, so will mention it to the dentist.
Went to my craft group last night - I set up a monthly group at the church in September and some of us get together fortnightly and share the hosting. My Christmas project is coming along nicely now I have a dedicated time to do it. I find crafting helps with my anxiety too as I'm so engrossed in a project.
Dinner last night was cooked by DD. She asked a couple of questions about the ingredients, but otherwise it was all okay. DS2 will cook tonight. DH taught him how to iron his school shirts last night, so that's one less thing for me to do.
Have a good day all,

HH sorry to hear your not in the best place you certainly seem to be getting a grip of the agrophobia with your regular park visits. I have a friend who suffers very badly and she struggles to stand in the gardenHope things improve for you soon
welcome creative gal
Managed to sort out getting the money I was due for the mattress yesterday took me ages to pluck up the courage to ask which is a trait that really annoys me about myselfShe paid up immediatly and it was all over in minutes thank goodness ...I think I just cant stand the thought of any conflict.
Need to work out the best way to get rid of the old one but that is less of a issue.
Mum and morrisons day today. They have Baileys for £12 a litre so I may get some in.
Right time to crack on have a good day all0 -
Morning,
I still feel like a new girl and am a bit trepidatious about posting.
But here goes.
Yesterday was my Dad's funeral which was terribly sad and I cried most of the day. But everyone said it was a lovely service. Since I wrote most of it, including the minister's address, that was heartening. We have raised quite a bit of money for charity in Dad's name too.
Today I am going to try to tackle the probate forms following instructions on this site. Hopefully that'll save Mum money.
Giving up proper work at Christmas - partly to concentrate on writing and partly because i can't cope with working conventionally and migraines - and a little bit anxious about what I'll do all day but Coxy, you have reminded me that i love crafting and i love starting groups so maybe i'll do something like your church group.
Holly, hope you are OK. Have you tried hypnotherapy? It can produce quite amazing results. I should qualify as a hypnotherapist in February. Not claiming to be amazing at it but my tutor is and has had a lot of success with agoraphobia and depression. Unlike conventional therapy, it's fast so you only need 3 or 4 sessions usually. I got into it because it was cheaper when I wanted therapy!!! Just a thought. Hope it's ok to post about it.

Morning all.
The weather here is dire, however both DGC fed and taken to school, got soaked again ! Poor DGD has gone down with a cold so I expect she'll share and we'll all get it next week :rotfl:.
Not doing anything else today as it's our Wedding Anniversary so we are going out to lunch at a local eatery. :kisses3:. I had a card and a box of Thorn*ons chocs, didn't even have to remind Mr Fix It this year. He doesn't forget he just gets the date wrong ! We will take Dad too as it's his birthday today, he's 88. :bdaycake:
Had a noisy awakening at 5am as an ambulance arrived for elderly neighbour. No family arrived . I hope she gets looked after in hospital as we have had several manic phone calls lately. She is paranoid that people are going into her house at night. It's not pleasant to live in fear every day.
Creative Gal hello and welcome
NMLC what a day you had yesterday. I hope today is better for you.
HollyH I am sending positive vibes your way. Please keep posting, I enjoy reading about your day.
Tru I want a spa house too. Have a great time whatever you decide to do.
Specky enjoy your break
JackieO sending healing vibes to Frank
Coxy Oooh ! to the cracked tooth. As if you haven't enough to deal with already.
Better stop wittering on or I'll be banned for taking up to much space on the thread :rotfl:.
Hope everyone has a good ( ish ) day and hugs to those who want or need one.
JennyP sorry cross posted with you. You post whenever you feel like it love. We were all new on here at one time or another ( I only started in Jan ) and everyone is so friendly and supportive.
I'm glad that yesterday went as well as it could. Sending gentle hugs your way.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
JennyP - so sorry I missed saying 'hello and welcome' the other day. Well done on getting through yesterday. It's so hard to lose someone close and it's a surreal experience going to their funeral. On the subject of crafting groups, sounds like a plan for you. I am lucky to be able to get a room at the church for free once a month, but I realise that may not be an option for you. Good luck with it all xCross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 18/25 Currently reading It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover0

Holly (((HUGS))) If it's any help, I kind of know how you feel; I've suffered depression for most of my life (been on tablets of one sort and another since I was 12 for it) and although I don't have agoraphobia as such, I do have what could be called anthropophobia - fear of people. This makes seeking help for the situation extremely difficult and stressful as I'm terrified of doctors and therapists! Even making a normal transaction in a shop makes me feel sick in the pit of my stomach, just through having to interact with the cashier. I do try to at least manage "good morning" to dog-walkers when I'm out with my canine guests - but if the truth be known I actually speak to their dogs!
JennyP please don't worry about posting; everyone here is lovely - they haven't even managed to frighten me away yet, so they must be a good lot (see above for explanation).
I'm glad your Dad's send-off went well; be kind to yourself now, won't you?
Nannywindow happy anniversary. :beer:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Morning all
Welcome creativegal. good place here.
HollyHarvey hugsxx
Quiet day here. Could do with some sun though. We have a week off from babysitting DGS. I am trying to make the most of it as next week we will have him part of Monday, long day Tuesday and Wednesday until 1.30. School is closed for in service day on Monday and parent teacher consultations on Wednesday. DD has a course at her workplace on Monday 11-2pm. We don't usually have him on a Monday. He is lovely though but tiring. On top of this DH has made an opticians appointment on Wednesday afternoon. Grrr.
Well offski to vacuum and tidy our bedroom. Did the spare room yesterday. Have a nice afternoon everyone and hugs and spoons all round.

Hi everyone I've been reading but not posted for a few days.
I'm on a weeks holiday as it's half term. I went to Leeds on Sunday to visit eldest DD - had a lovely day together. Nice carvery lunch, lots of shopping, coffee, ice cream....I treated myself to some new jumpers and a pair of black boots....to add to my black boot collection. In my opinion the good thing about the weather getting colder is that it's time to wear black boots!
Then I got the train to York and stayed at a Travelodge, then had the day in York before getting the train back home late afternoon. It was the first time I've stayed in a hotel by myself...aged 50 ! I had a lovely day just looking around and even went to Primark and bought the girls' Christmas pyjamas and all the bits for their stockings...so feeling very organised!
Cleaned the house and ironed this morning, then my mam and dad treated me to a lovely lunch out, as I'm on my school holidays. Had a lovely fish pie served with green beans. Then been fiddling on my laptop for the last hour. Really must move and get the cats blankets off the line. It's nice and sunny but sounds quite windy now.
I got a great bargain in Primark yesterday - packs of 3 sleepsuits for £1 each - yes 3 sleepsuits for £1. I got 2 newborn packs - one for a friend at work and one for another friend, plus a bigger size for my great nephew. My work friend is having a girl - these are one white with a thin navy stripe, one white with little navy whales and one blue - I'm sure it won't matter for that price!0
