We stayed at a nice hotel in Mombasa and the hotel had the contacts. We paid a deposit upfront with the remainder to be paid to the driver on the day. It was a 5am start and a great day out. We saw many animals including a pride of lionesses shading beneath a tree. We also went to an authentic Maasai village where we did the dance and they taught us how to make fire with 2 sticks.
You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

Although I did find the "gift" that you then have to pay for rather amusing
  • I have booked Tanzania, northern circuit, for the first week of February 2018. Flying KLM from Birmingham to Kilimanjaro via Amsterdam. I have booked a week's private safari with Roy's safaris in Arusha. We are going to visit Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara, 2 nights in a Serengeti tented camp, Ngorogoro crater. I have been to Tanzania before and loved it so this time I am taking my Dad. The price is a little over $7000 for the two of us plus flights but that is for our itinerary and the accommodations we want to stay in. They also do group tours that you can join which are a lot cheaper. I haven't used this company before so I'm not recommending them. I researched on other forums & decided their reviews were good but there are plenty of other companies based in Arusha to choose from. You can also get cheaper flights with longer duration but as my father is 89 it was important for me to have everything as comfortable and easy as possible.

We went to Zambia a few years ago, Livingstone via Johannesburg. That was only a week as well and was a great trip. We spent 2 nights on a houseboat on the Chobe river (loads of elephants) and 4 nights at Bushbuck River house http://www.bushbuckriverhouse.com/ which was a wonderful experience. They made all our arrangements including for Chobe. We went to Victoria Falls, Devil's pool, Zimbabwean side and did a helicopter flight and an elephant back safari. It was a magical week.
Hope this helps and that you get to go on safari, you'll love it.
