Parking at Lidl

Can anyone help please?
My partner and I use our local Lidl probably 3-4 times a week, normally park there on the way home from work. On the day in question, my partner had taken my work van to his aunts house to collect a few things as she had recently passed away and the flat needed to be emptied. On the way back, stopped in our local Lidl to get dinner. Was allowed to stay free parking for 10mins but stayed for 20mins. When leaving, went to the validation machine and input the family car registration, not my work van! This was a genuine and honest mistake.
I've contacted Athena who are in charge of the parking and they have now come back requesting I send them full name, home address and to confirm the full name of the person driving.
I have replied to them with the information I originally had done and really don't see why they would want the information they have asked for unless they have clear intention of refusing our appeal, so have not given them what they've requested.
Has anyone got any advice on what to do - this was a genuine mistake never happened before.
Thank you in advance -
Jason

they are phishing for drivers details so its an easy win
dont fall for it
you can appeal this as KEEPER by following the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread
ideally , complain to LIDL ceo and get it cancelled
despite what happened, they want their pound of flesh so you may have to wait it out or fight it in the courts0 -
Great - thanks - much appreciated.0

Athena now join the "dirty tricks brigade " then.
They are entitled to obtain from the DVLA the name
and address of the keeper. They have NO authority
to ask for further data.
You need to bitterly complain to the MD as a valued customer
Athena are their agents and we all know what can happen
when data is provided adlib, especially parking cowboys

I am trying to fight a similar charge.
Please can someone explain how to find 'newbies stickies' so I can use this appeal letter template I keep reading about. I keep going round in circles! Thanks0 -

One of the first 4 threads ‘stuck’ to the top of the forum thread list (hence the term ‘sticky’).
It’s one page back from this one, so having read this comment, just use your keyboard ‘Back button’ ( < ) and that takes to the forum thread list. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks guys - have sent an email to CEO. Hopefully he will be able to get the ticket cancelled but isn't it disgusting that with a valid reason as to why the wrong vehicle details were input into the machine instore, and you're allowed 90minutes free parking (of which we'd only stayed for 20) that Athena just want the money.......
Appreciate your help - fingers crossed.
Thank you -

I fail to understand why companies allow PPCs to annoy their customers thusly. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

10 minutes is surely insufficient time to enter the store, find what you are looking for, give up and ask the Polish assistant where the item is, find it, join the queue at the check out, wait for the check out person to change the till roll, and join the queue to get out.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Sorry - should have actually said free parking allowed was 90mins, not 10!0
