I need to use Windows Virtual PC /XP mode on my windows 7 pc to install an xp program but Virtual PC is not listed in All Programs or in Windows Features. OH and I both have desktop PCs around 2 years old and are running latest windows 7 Pro. I have not made any mods to the basic OS.
On OH's PC under the All Programs tab, it lists Windows Virtual PC and under that Virtual PC and Windows XP. This is not something he has set up, he has no knowledge of anything other than the basic operating system it came with.
How do I set it up on my PC?

Virtual PC was only available in Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate - not Home Premium. Not that it applies to you as you have Pro but for others reading this...
If you only have Home Premium the only other way you're going to get XP on the machine is through an actual Virtual Machine - such as Oracle VM Virtualbox for example - but this involves installing XP into it yourself.0 -
I use Oracle Virtual Box to do just that, Windows 10 64 bit, runs 32 bit XP under VB. It works great with dual monitors, XP on one and 10 on the other, just move the mouse pointer to the other screen to switch between systems. Best of all it's free.

From memory. XP runs in a window in the Windows 7 environment. so you never leave Windows 7.0
