Best to treat it as £1500 well spent and move on. Odds are if she's been chased for years about it her credit rating is completely stuffed and even winning a small claim doesn't mean you'll get money back if she doesn't have any.

You can always send a Letter Before Action if you have an address, but I doubt it'd be worth following it up - it could cost you a lot of money and stress and get you nowhere.

I'd make sure you're not paying anything else of hers, and that she doesn't have any access to any money/services you're paying for, and then move on.
  • Many of us - both men and women - have been where you've been, and have the T-shirt to prove it.

For myself, I fell for a woman who had debts coming out of her ears, which I paid out for. It continued during 13 years of marriage with forged cheques, hidden debts and lots more.

When the day does dawn - and it usually does - then things seem a lot clearer.

You were fortunate to get off lightly, and quickly. So think yourself lucky.

You've now got yourself into a far better position. Congratulations. And you're also in a far better position to see it coming if a similar thing should ever happen again. As for the money - it's gone and she's leeching off someone else now.

    Correct :rotfl: She's engaged again...

End of the day - I can always earn more money, pay off the remainder of the debt and think myself lucky that she's not took half of my house / car / dog :rotfl:
  • Your well shot there mate.

These days there is a real argument, especially for men, to never get married.

    I tend to agree too.
The instructions on the box said 'Requires Windows 7 or better'. So I installed LINUX :D:D
