Help, stuck in neverland

Some of you may recall the problems we were having with our completion date and the lender holding the draw down up. That is no longer an issue but we are still stuck in neverland (i.e., a hotel between houses) waiting on an electronic transfer from one sol to the other of the balance of funds for the new house. The sol for the new house won't close until the transfer shows up in their account, which should happen "anytime" (so we have been told for the last lot of days). The stress of this is beyond a joke.
Has this happened to anyone else, any advice from anyone, is there anything we can do beside wait? How long does an electronic transfer of funds (same bank, from UK to ROI, £ to Euro) take?
HELP

Euro to £, Europe to UK, usually arrive 2 or 3 working days after the supposed "value" date. This is for different banks so yours could be quicker.
It will depend on whether the transfer has been made as an urgent or standard transfer.
The major banks do have international payment departments that handle the transfers. They normally phone the recipient account holder to check they want the funds transferred into the currency of the account.
I get the impression that they want to clear the decks on a Friday afternoon as I get phonecalls then more often than any other time!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thanks for the info. Transfer was made urgent. Cannot understand how this process is so drawn out and maddening. I know it is only a matter of days but time gets stood on its head in this, with being told "today" everyday and never knowing when something is going to happen.

Monday morning the lender decided they didn't need the statement after all and released the funds just like that. Transfer was supposed to have been done Monday afternoon, then it was said Tuesday, and today it comes out it was requested yesterday.
All of this is very frustrating.0
