Plastering costs in Bristol

Hi everyone
I am just about to complete on my first ever home in South Bristol, which is very exciting and daunting at the same time.
I will need a new kitchen fitted asap and I know when the old one is ripped out the whole room will need to be re plastered as it's in a bit of a state. The room is L shaped with a length of just under 5m and a max width of 3m. Could you let me know what kind of price this would be?
And if anyone knows any good plasterers in south Bristol that would be amazing!
Thanks
Grace

Plasterers in Bristol are very expensive in my experience. I had to pay £240 just to get one wall in my living room skimmed recently - some plasterers quoted a lot more than that too. I reckon you could be looking at about £600 for your room.0

That sounds expensive to me. Last time I had a single room plastered it included overboarding the ceiling and skimming all walls + ceiling, which came to about £600 iirc (granted it was 3 years ago). I also had half the house skimmed a couple of years ago and that was on a day rate of £180 + materials.
Unfortunately, good plasterers are hard to come by and often booked up / mostly do commercial jobs - at least that's been my experience in Bristol. You really do need a recommendation if you can get one, ideally from another tradesman as they may work with one. The best guy I had was someone who worked with our general builder, and I managed to get him to come in on a weekend by offering a few extra quid.
With all plasterers (and trades for that matter), agree exactly what you want upfront anddon't be afraid to say if you're not happy. I've had some odd bits of work not up to my expectations/standards, and it's only now with more experience of hiring trades that I would feel able to say I'm not happy, and either get it remedied or negotiate on cost.0 -
If it is skimming then 15 sq meters plus ceiling is at least a two man day. Ensure the area is clear before they start. Materials should be around £50. So £400 should be enough. Give some thought to what lighting and power points you want to change before you call the plasters.0
