Anyone had problems logging into Natwest this morning ??
Tried the usual log in - said that details were incorrect and immediately locked me out, didn't even give me the usual 3 tries !!

Wouldn't accept my customer number -had to go thru a re registration process -then it told me my customer number - which was the one that I had been trying!!
Wonder if they have c**ked something up with the change to allowing you to use debit card no. as alternative to customer number ??

I just made one careful attempt to login and was told that my login details are incorrect. Itcould of course be that I did make an error. It happens. I was not locked out. I'll not try again for the moment in case there is an issue.

Did the message that you got specify that it was the customer number that was incorrect? My recollection is that my message said something to the effect that there was something wrong with the customer number/PIN/password combination attempted.

I have just logged in without any issues. However with NatWest if you make a mistake you only get one more chance before being locked out. If someone else enters your customer number and the wrong PIN and/or password twice you will be locked out. So you may just have been messed up by some random person entering your customer number by mistake.

NatWest's error messages are useless. They say that your customer number has has not been recognised. You then need to enter all your details to get back in and they then tell you your customer number which you knew all the time. This works but is very disconcerting the first time you do it.

@RG2015 -nail on the head! It is VERY disconcerting to have to enter loads of info. to get back in -only to find that the customer no. was correct all along - but you are almost certainly correct -someone else entered my customer no. (either by error or design) then entered incorrect PIN/password characters.
EDIT - Have noticed this a.m that the website hadn't remembered the customer no./card number even tho' I ticked the box to remember it yesterday!
  • I have been locked out after my customer number was not recognised I then went through the "reset" your details only to be locked out, during the "reset" I received a text saying welcome to online banking !! I now have to wait for an authorisation code to be sent by post !! Can log in no problem using the app on my phone !! strange !!

I received two emails & texts, thanking me for re-registering after going thru the reset procedure - also during the reset,it asks for telephone banking PIN and password characters NOT Online details - this threw me as I've never set up telephone banking -fortunately the online security details worked anyway:)

I tried this morning and got a customer number wrong error, but I definitely entered it right.

Tried again and it let me in, without issue.

I would definitely say, that there is something not right with it.
