    Morning everyone,

Dull and dreary here today, was cold last night so we did pop the heating on for an hour to take the chill off before heading to bed.
Tea and cake yesterday afternoon was lovely but it was the first real family get together since we lost Mum so tough as well, my darling niece is certainly a chip off her Grandma's block and baked her brother a fab cake with a jelly bean surprise centre.
Have a pile of ironing to get through and WM is chugging away, it still doesn't like to spin at full speed so money has been put aside for its replacement, there's always something isn't there.
We have crab fish cakes for supper, will do roasted parsnips and carrots with.
Oh what a time for your son TRU!

Thoughts are with Frank JackieO hoping the operation goes as well as possible.
On the subject of chores, my ex also thought that the house was my responsibility despite us both working full time. They were considered 'pink' jobs whereas 'blue' jobs were putting the bins out and.....well that's about it really :( Anyways, that's another life and thankfully long gone.

Have a good day folks x
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, especially Frank and his family this morning, I hope all goes well.

Another late start, it was 9am before we woke, we are going to have to stop reading so late, and get to sleep earlier, at least I am sleeping though, even if I do wake a couple of times in the night.

Monday clean will have to wit till tomorrow. I have whites in the washer, its a bit grey and has rained but the forecast was to clear this afternoon.

OH was a real misery last night, he kept getting spikes in his headache, he will slouch in his chair which means his neck is bent, I give up, I am just wasting my breath. He did up his medication last night, so he is on the top dose now. Still not word from the hospital, so it looks like I am going to have to put up and shut up till 18th December. I might well be in the funny farm by then!! The stress is not getting any less.

DD1 and family seem to be having a good time in Mexico, although the weather is not that good, but then its the hurricane season, what do they expect.

Cauli and calabrese gratin with jacket spuds and baked tomato for supper tonight.

    Morning everyone,
Thank you all so much for the words of wisdom and kindness shown yesterday. I am working today and tomorrow, then off Wed-Fri. Will call the docs shortly to arrange an appointment. I never go to the docs - well only every three years when I get 'the letter'. I'm worried I won't be able to express what's wrong iyswim? It's easier to explain something's wrong when you are cut and bleeding isn't it? I suppose the fact that I'm permanently on the verge of tears might be a place to start. I'm fine at work - I'm usually too busy to think about other things - but when I'm not at work I feel very anxious with so much to think about. I don't know whether this is to do with the menopause (I'm 48) - or whether it's because so much has happened, or both??
You are right of course, in that the family should do more. I don't think they will ever offer though, so tonight I am going to have DD cook dinner, and will be showing DS2 (13) how to iron his school shirts. DS1 is off the hook slightly in that he is working 40+ hours a week, so can't cook as he's not here. He will do his own ironing though. As for DH, well he cooked the roast yesterday (I peeled the spuds and carrots and left him to it). I have also decided that he can shop for his families Christmas presents this year. I will give him the budget and let him get on with it.
Jackie - so sorry that Frank's news wasn't more positive. I hope the procedure goes smoothly. Hugs xx
tru - that's so awful for your poor son. You have my sympathy x
meanmarie - glad to hear from you x
    Have a good day all,
    Coxy xx

    Hi
Back to feeding the DGC and taking them to school, got soaked as usual. It's only for this week as it's half term next week, then their childminder is back.
We went over the farm after the school run to pay for our caravan storage. Don't know what the future holds there as the farmer has sold his farm. So we will have to wait and see.
Called back in Al*is for lemonade ( bulk buy ) milk and bread. Shopping put away and now coffee time :coffee:.
Well the washing got soaked yesterday as the forecast was wrong again . I had to put the heating on to dry the bedding, but there are still some damp clothes hanging about, so will have to sort those out in a minute.
DGD is going to a Halloween disco after school so I have to get her changed, she's going as Spiderella, and needs her make up done before her dad picks up. Unfortunately there is only about 10 mins between getting through the door and pick up. Oh and my DD wants me to do the make up ? Does she not realise I can't do my own ( very seldom nowadays ) without getting something in my eye ! :rotfl:.
Now I'm going to have another coffee and do a shop from Tes*o, as they kindly sent me a voucher for £9 off a £60 shop. Would be rude not to use it :p.
Next on the list is a kitchen / dining room clean and tidy after the breakfast whirlwind.
I think tea tonight will be leftover chicken and rice with a curry sauce.
JackieO I hope every thing goes ok with the op.
Specky are you taking ducks too? :rotfl:.
TA 101 presents . Even the thought of that would make me feel quite unwell _pale_. I only have 7 and that includes me and Mr Fix It and I am struggling with that this year.
Enjoy Monday ( was going to type Thursday, wishful thinking there ) and hugs all round.
Ps Coxy just seen your post about talking to the Dr. Could you write things down about how you feel before you go and that way you won't forget anything or get tongue tied ? Good for you sharing out some chores. Your family probably didn't realise how tired you are and thought you are like the energy bunny and could keep on going. And now they know.

    Afternoon all!

I've spent the morning doing the planning for the session this afternoon, of course, should have done it yesterday but I fritttered the day away doing lovely things. :rotfl: Biggest problem has been trying to source a suitable text for the students and then getting it to print out. I finally found the correct way and new printer came up trumps!

I'm off shortly, it's a two hour drive to Dunoon, a two hour session and another two hour drive back. At least I'm getting paid for my travelling time. IF there's a space in the road as I drive home past the Chinese takeaway I may avail myself of it.

I've finished off the liver from yesterday with savoy cabbage, peas and red pepper. I really need to up my intake of fruit and veg.

Right, off to get fuel, call in at the tip and head down the road.

I hope everyone has a happy Monday, what's left of it!

It's perfectly acceptable to make notes before you go, so that you remember everything you want to say.

I've even heard of someone writing a short letter and just handing that to the doctor, because she feared that if she started to vocalise everything, she'd burst into tears.

I'm pleased that you are taking steps to offload some of the tasks onto the rest of the family - and yes, absolutely DH should be selecting presents for his side of the family.

I'm so glad I don't have to do presents; when Mr LW was out of work for 11 months we ceased present-giving (that was 2002) and we've carefully never restarted it.

    Hi all

Been shopping this morning for the things we forgot yesterday when we took DD and DGS shopping. DH as usual couldn't walk past the pasties lol. I'm having soup. Shock horror, I bought some!

No looking after DGS this week but they will be calling round socially as they are going to soft play and a Halloween craft session on a couple of days near to us .

Tru what bad lick for DS!
    Coxy (hugs
    Csarina thinking of you xx
    JackieO best wishes to Frank.

Well I think I might finally put my summer clothes away this afternoon and get DH to put the vacuum round the bedroom. We know how to live. lol

    Have a nice day everyone.

i have been to the doctors today and i too hate going
i wrote all the points down on a piece of paper and went through them one by one
it all went ok lol and i feel better that i finally went
  • Oh dear, I didn't expect to be taken at my word when I said I had about 101 presents to buy!! It just felt like that!! I have just counted up and I actually only (!!) have 26 people to buy for, with lots and lots of stocking fillers for the DGDs on top. I have already bought 15 so still 11 left to buy and, of course, the many stocking fillers. If I was a shopaholic there would be no problem but I hate trawling the shops with no clue on what I am looking for! xx

  • Hi chums our Frank is doing not too bad he had his op. and although he was down there for about three hours he is now in ICU and on a ventilator but comfortable, and the nurses are taking great careof him as he is quite a character and was pulling their legs before he went down to theatre.

The next few days are crucial and we all have our fingers crossed for this grand old chap. Thanks everyone for your continued support and good wishes.

    love 'n'stuff to you all
