Should I appeal as keeper or driver?

Hi everyone, I’ve read the newbies thread and have just a couple of questions.
1) A person parked on residential property and found a PCN on my windscreen issued by UKPC, They are not the keeper of the vehicle as They are insured as a named driver, does said person still appeal as the keeper or do They follow the instructions under “lease, company car” etc?
2) The driver parked parked next to the sign that said They can’t park there, it was attached to a lamp post on a very dark road and rather high up and so they therefore didn’t see the sign, which is also very hard to read. Is it still worth them appealing?
I can send pictures of the area aswell as their evidence if this helps.
Thank you for your time and appreciate any advice that can be given.

First off I would reword above to refer to "Keeper" and "Driver" in your opening post.
There is a distinction between "keeper" and "registered owner". So believe a named driver could be the keeper on the day. (Google it for more details).1) I parked on residential property and found a PCN on my windscreen issued by UKPC, I am not the keeper of the vehicle as I am insured as a named driver, do I still appeal as the keeper or do I follow the instructions under “lease, company car” etc?
I would say it is always worth appealing against private parking companies.2) I parked next to the sign that said I can’t park there, it was attached to a lamp post on a very dark road and rather high up and so I therefore didn’t see the sign, which is also very hard to read. Is it still worth appealing?
The NEWBIES thread, near the top of the list of threads, should provide more details on how to and what to say.0 -
Thank you for your response, I couldn’t find anything online about being a keeper on the day though
only being the registered keeper but not the owner which I am neither 0 -
Really?
We talk about day-to-day keepers quite often here, and it's the reason the template appeal in the NEWBIES thread describes an appellant as the ''keeper'' (notice, it's not written to be from the registered keeper).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Oh ok that’s fair enough, well thanks for the help I’m going to go ahead with my appeal !0

Are you going to edit your opening post along the lines suggested in post #2?
For example, your point 2) should start something like:2) The driver parked next to the sign that said he couldn't park there, it was attached to a lamp post on a very dark road and rather high up and so the driver therefore didn’t see the sign...Review and adjust the rest of your post similarly.
This is important as PPCs trawl forums like this waiting for people to trip themselves up.0 -
Have just done so thanks for pointing that out again!0
