Mozilla Firefox - a web page is slowing down your browser..........

I use Mozilla Firefox and the following message has started to appear mostly when I use Outlook 'a seb page is slowing down your browser. What would you like to do? Stop it or Wait.

I have uninstalled Mozilla and reinstalled, I have cleared the cache and searched to see if there is a problem with Mozilla to no avail.

Can anyone advise if they have experienced this or what to do. I have used Mozilla for some time now with no problems.

Thanks.

Have a look at your installed plug-ins in Firefox? I think MS Office adds some to the browser.

Unless you need browser-integration, you can probably just disable or uninstall the plug-in.

I have been getting this a few times recently, usually on Facebook.

This morning I had a Firefox update so hoping it will stop it. It was fine before the update before that one. I don't really use plugins far as I know. This only happens on certain sites, Outlook once last week, and twice on Facebook again last week.
  • I don't know how to deal with plug-ins so have steered clear of this. I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox but this hasn't made a difference. It is mostly with outlook that I am having the problem and it is really annoying. I open one email and that is fine, go to file it or delete and firefox ceases up again. Up until the automatic update everything was working fine. Bring back quills and ink!!!!

I've been getting it too, and don't use Facebook or Outlook. I just thought my laptop was slow and Firefox was picking up on it.
  • Yes I have done my scan with Malwarebytes, I thought I had tried everything but obviously not. If it wasn't so early in the day I would take to drink - it is getting worse. Sorry for everyone else in this situation, very frustrating.

I am now also using Chrome but really would like to continue to use Firefox.

I am afraid I had to dump Firefox a few weeks ago.
Just kept having silly problems with it all the time so decided to go back to using Chrome........
    No problems at all now.
  • The only thing that stops me doing this too is all my bookmarks in Firefox but I will probably just move them over. A good thing never lasts!!

https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/96816?hl=en-GB and see the "from all other browsers" section. Just export them from Firefox into bookmarks.html and import that into Google Chrome. Simples. *squeak* :)
  • Hi, Neil Jones

Thanks for this and I will file it away. I don't use my Google account and although this looks good I need to use Google to transfer across. I will give it a lot of thought and appreciate your help.
