Is there much difference between a high and low price fridge-freezer?

Current one is on the way out (freezer has stopped working and fridge is slowly getting warmer) and we are looking to get a replacement integrated unit asap (54cm wide). Looking on John Lewis, there seems to be a big difference in price between units of this size, with the cheapest being £290 and the post expensive near £900. They all have similar space, energy rating etc.

Any advice?

Can you not get the thermostat replaced and fridge regassed?

Most fridges unless you want gimmicks and to pay for a item that wont make the extra outlay back in its lifetime all work much the same There are lots of wholesalers /retailers around cheaper than john lewis ? https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/outlets

Thanks for the reply but can you elaborate? Have no idea was re-gassing a fridge entails.

John Lewis for the customer service really. It's not really the money I am too worried about, just whether it's worth paying extra.

Re-gassing is getting the refridgerant topped up, naturally this would be performed by a specialist plus the thermostat and compressor checks, it maybe all a low cost fix rather than splashing out on a new unit, unless of course you just fancy some retail therapy (and there's nothing wrong with that).
