    ill tell you what happened,
he suddenly indicated right without warning, no brake lights, and turned, which was when he hit the passenger side door of my car.

How does someone suddenly indicate right without warning. Does your car have a pre indicator to indicate when you intend to indicate?

Just because the other driver pulled left doesn't mean he was going to park to the left. Did he indicate to the left? No he didn't. He indicated to the right and turned right. You chose to overtake when it was unsafe to do so. It's 100% your fault.

You're describing it like it all happened in a nice slow sequence and OP should have known. He PULLED TO the left, then whlist OP was already overtaking, van driver indicated and went right, almost all at the same time. OP has already admitted they shouldn't be overtaking at a junction, and is asking if the van driver should take any of the blame.
Van driver certainly seems to have missed out MIRROR signal manoeuvre.
