Using AVIOS In Store Card facility

Hi,
I like the idea of the AVIOS inStore Card facility, which monitors the Credit card purchases and automatically collects points on those that are linked to its estore - without having to go through the actual estore - BUT how safe is it - I cant see any reference when MSE is talking about AVIOS where this is mentioned - it sounds too good to be true - its it?
BTW - It took me 15 mins to work out how to post a thread on this MSE forum - man its over complicated - can you please simplify it.
