ACE Parking- Screwed up

I live in a development where we have permits - I have been using my permit for years with no issue. My mother visited and used the permit as per normal. However, there was a Charge Notice. In my haste, I approached the porter who is on site who said I had to call. I called up a nd was told to that the porter told the operative that she did not recognised the permit.

I corrected the ACE person on the phone and told the porter at the same time. There was a specimen of a valid pemit on the notice board as well.

The ACE told me to specify that I was taking responsibility and to email thru all details which I did.

However, now searching the web it seems I did the wrong thing completely.

I have emailed the ACE on appeal, I have also emailed the management company about this and said it was an error of the porter giving incorrect information and I am guessing that the ACE operative is just trying it on as he must know the porter is new on site and does not know the relevant permits around parking.

What can I do now I have emailed ACE - I am sure they will just ignore the notice and just send through payment requests.

Seems you did a very clever thing, you appealed even though you are neither the driver nor the keeper of that car (so you cannot be held liable). Keep it that way!

Protect your Mum from this utter pariah of an ex-clamper, who should be nowhere near your cars. Your Managing Agent should be ashamed of this entire regime (YOU DO NOT NEED PERMITS AT YOUR OWN HOME!), and the Porter is liable for the issue. Who does this Porter work for? It's their fault.

I hope you DID give your name and POSTAL address (as you must when appealing) and I hope you didn't write that you were driving or any such wrong thing? Just that you are the resident and you are appealing an unfair PCN?

Did you mention Mum but not name her?

I'd even go as far as to suggest you come back when ACE reject the appeal, assuming you gave your postal address, and work on an IAS appeal because a person who wasn't driving and wasn't the keeper of the car, simply is not liable and they are pursuing the wrong person.

I quite like this approach for IPC members!

DO NOT WRITE AN IAS APPEAL WITHOUT FORUM HELP, THEY ARE HARD TO WIN.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
