Car conundrum - what to do

I'm with the others here. Keep the perfectly good cars and save the money.0

Recently was in a similar situation - my car is worn out, no question about it. It needs around £1200 of work and is worth about £800, her car had less then half miles on it, was much younger and in good condition but is big, slow and not a lot of fun to drive. We had some money set aside to change mine but after going along and sitting in a few I decided I liked my car much more then the alternatives so mine is going to get to work done; which I think is bonkers.
We put what is left into upgrading her car - it might not look very money saving on paper - she now has more tax/insurance/worse mpg+ we have a chunk of cash missing from the bank but we have a much nicer car on the drive. Something I actually want to drive on the weekend. Plus I expect long term it will be money saving; what she has now has a reputation for reliability & safety compared to the old one - important with youngsters in the car.
I would get shot of the one you don't like to drive everytime.0
