Balanced radiators? downstairs still taking ages to heat up
Comments

How many radiators do you have? Do you have a open or sealed system?0

It is an open system & 13 rads0

I take it you've made all the upstairs radiators 1/4 turn on, and all the downstairs ones are open fully?
We have a tall but thin townhouse (3 floors, 2 rooms on each) and we have a similar problem. It's better since I balanced it this way, but I still hope to find a way for downstairs to warm up more! Doesn't help that our desktop machines are on the top floor too which heats it up!0 -
13 rads isn’t that big and I can’t imagine you would need to balance them to that extreme to make them all work this also obviously hasn’t always been a problem so I would suspect as i said before i would think is a pump or restriction. To balance a system correctly you need measure the flow and return temps and adjust the valves accordingly.0
