Apple account

Please excuse if this is posted in the wrong thread.
For a few months now I have been receiving emails from “Apple” showing invoices where I have purchased items. I haven’t purchased anything and they are all scam. However for the past two weeks I am now getting up to 2 or 3 emails at least per day showing the items I have purchased and they are all in US$. I have contacted Apple and sent the emails to “reportphishing” etc as they originally said and they replied don’t worry as it’s a scam. I am now fed up with them and thinking maybe I should change my account details ie password or even email address with Apple to try and stop just in case it turns out my account is hacked and they manage to get money taken from my account.

Would this do any good can anyone advise please? Or does anyone have any other ideas please?
Many thanks.

As your existing address is already known, it's unlikely to make any difference changing your details with Apple.

Switch to either Outlook or Gmail, or a combination of both. Both have quite good spam filters and though it won't stop you receiving spam, it will at least isolate it in the spam folder so you can ignore it if you choose.

Be extremely careful who you give your email address to. If you have to use it to sign up on a site make sure you untick any boxes offering to send you junk mail (always read the small print)

I always assumed that some of these spambots just make up random addresses, and based on that if you're going to create a new one j48uk48sxgbz692d@gmail.com is far less likely to receive mail than lara456789@gmail.com (in my opinion)

If you don't trust your own password is safe then change it for peace of mind, its the easiest thing to do!

If I changed my email address for every spammy, scammy email I get then I would be forever updating every site I have signed up to with an email address.

When I get invoices from apple they come from "email.apple.com" address so I know its safe and also I know what I buy with my apple account.

Gmail is excellent for putting any suspect emails automatically into my spam folder plus I can set up filters to auto delete emails from address that i have flagged to be spam.

Many thanks to both of you. I’ve changed my password a few times so obviously that doesn’t work. I’ll change to my gmail account and see what happens.
I never open the emails and click/hover over who it is from and from there can tell it’s spam although they are VERY VERY good I have to say!
