Help with mileage on a HPI check.

Hi there guys, first time post for me here!

The problem I have is I've just bought a car. And now checking the HPI report I have noticed something that I scanned over quickly and didn't realise before buying the car. As shown in the photo in the link the mileage jumps up from 32k mileage on one MOT to 427k on the next and then back down to 53k ok the next MOT. When scanning it first time before buying I read the 427k as 42k (as that would make sense of the mileage going from 32>42>53k) have I bought a car that has been 'clocked' or could it be possibly an input error that has added an extra 400k mileage on to the car? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

Ok as a new user I can't post links to photos, but I hope you get the idea of what I mean. Thank you.

Do you think 1170 miles each and every day is possible, taking into account there will be 10+ tyre changes, 2--3 stops for fuel EACH day?
  • Didn't think of it that way haha I just panicked and didn't do the maths. Thank you!

The trucks where I work are double shifted so go out in the day then have a driver who does a night trunk and they can't manage that amount of mileage even though they can be on the go driving for 16-20hrs out of every 24.

Have you checked the online MOT history to see if the erroneous 427k figure is on there and did the vehicle come with a service history/service book that should show the mileage at those service dates?

The time to check a HPI report is before you buy a car.
