bought a hp 2130 printer. Thought it was a wireless one but i have orderd the wrong one. I have limited ability and it is a struggle to get to the shop to change it, so i have installed but it is a bit bulky so i wondered if i could just unplug it and just plug in when i need it, which wont be very often. The drivers are all installed

In short, yes you can.
However consider several things.
Inkjet printers run better if used frequently, say every week or two as this often prevents ink drying problems so it is good Timothy out something (in colour) every month.
If the problem is just one of location and you could position it a bit further away but close by then you could just use a usb extension cable even if that means you only plug it in when required. It will save having to move it.0 -

My rarely used printer is stored in a cupboard and only connected when needed.
OP, If you connect it and its not seen by the pc try restarting the pc with the printer switched on and connected.0 -
