Vegas Flights - pay deposit only....

Hi – any help would be greatly appreciated.
Two people wanting to fly from Manchester to Vegas on Sunday 29 June 2007 returning on Sunday 13 July 2007 – 14 nights total BUT only want to pay a deposit now JUST IN CASE WE CANT ACTUALLY GO!!!
Sounds silly I know – but this way if we do go the flights are sorted.
Last year I did this with Airtours – balance payable six weeks before departure – wasn’t a great fan on My Travel due to stop over in Glasgow, but you cant have it all can you?…..
I have done my own searches and My Travel are around £1,100 for two (£150 deposit), BMI – are £940 – but you have to pay in full at mo…
Does anyone have any ideas?
PS – I have posted this on Vegas Thread & general on purpose – hoping to get advice from both groups of readers…
Thanks.

Sorry!! I mean 2008.....;):hello:My name is Steff and I am a Vegas Addict :j0 -
I don't understand this. Even if you only pay a deposit now you will still be liable for the balance even if you don't go.Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.0

Depends when they cancel
Really though your choices are book through a holiday package company for deposit only (which is usually charter) or wait until you know and have the option of a scheduled flight (which would be my choice) although obviously prices could go up or down. If you're prepared to go for an indirect flight you'll have a wider choice but if it HAS to be direct (not essential IMHO having done both) then the Airtours option will be better if you have no flexibility of routing or dates.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Hi - last time I paid my deposit with Airtours and was able to cancel 56 days before departure -therefore losing the deposit of £150 rather than the total cost of flights which was £800 ish. I have found that doing it this way can save money as flights to Vegas always go up/are high in July time.:hello:My name is Steff and I am a Vegas Addict :j0 -
It depends on each airlines rules, and each ticket type that airline offers.
Typically the cheapest fares are instant purchase. More expensive fares are not. British Midland tickets are not instant purchase, but might cost more than £150 more than a cheaper ticket.
It's a delicate process. I'd suggest you find a North American Ticket Specialist and they can go through all the fare rules with you. You won't get the information you require necessarily here, just a lot of hypothetical guesswork.0 -
Do bmi offer 'inclusive tour' fares to LAS?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Interesting, bmi from Manchester, Virgin from Gatwick, Manchester may be more convenient for Steff.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Scheduled airlines (Virgin, BA, bmi etc) will want payment upfront for their lowest fares. The only way to get these flights by only paying a deposit would be to book a holiday/inclusive tour with a tour operator who use these airlines.
Same for MyTravel, as they are a tour operator selling holidays (even though its a flight only, you go through the tour operator) they will only charge a deposit.0
