HELP trouble with my keyboard

I am hoping that someone in the comp forum might be able to help. The keyboard on my laptop is typing the wrong characters. Tried looking online, and tried a few things but nothing is working. Totally fed up, can anyone help.

Hi everyone, My keyboard is now typing correctly so I can explain in more detail what exactly was wrong.

Not all keys were affected - an example of what was happening is when I pressed certain keys I got double letters or letters where an action was required, see a few examples below.

v = vt
spacebar = j
b = bu
back key =]

make sure the keyboard selection is correct in settings. 'EN' etc

Thanks fire**fly - I only use the comp section, so had no idea where to post.

Something I have done appears to have worked, but unfortunately I don't know what it was, (tried so many different options) so any more answers or help will still be appreciated just it case it goes haywire again.
