I suspect the problem will be that until the installer turns up and gets the box out of the van no one will know what you are going to get as the new programme allows for an equal number of SMETS1 meters to be fitted and they have an awfully large amount of them left.
I agree; particularly, as BEIS is currently consulting on whether to extend the stop date for SMETS1 meter installations. The consultation ends on the 10 November.

Does anyone have a view or knowledge of if the installation 'engineers' actually know if they are fitting SMETS1 or SMETS2 meters?
I understand some of these people have been recruited specifically for the smart meter roll out but I wonder how well informed they are about the spec. of what they are fitting. Anyone know?0
