Credit club

Any advice would be great. Logged into credit club as looking to get a bigger mortgage. Affordability is low? We earn around £40k a year only debt is £3.8k on a credit card plus £398 mortgage payment. Really putting me off going for bigger mortgage :(

You'll need to provide a lot more detail.

Deposit? Amount looking to borrow? Credit history?

Don't use the credit club to find a mortgage. Use a broker if you're not confident in sourcing one yourself.

Yes we are now going to go down broker route. New build £190k deposit after sale of house £35k. Excellent credit score for both us (although I now know this doesn’t really mean much) got a AIP for Halifax for up to £206k with 5% deposit.

    There you go then.

Never let yourself be made sad by a random number given to you by someone who will never lend you money.

Yes, you are right. As ZX81 has already indicated, it is your history that is important.

History is all good no late/missed payments defaults etc do the above figures seem realistic with our income?
  • This is what your broker is for. He or she will review your circumstances in detail and place your application with the right lender.

All we can give is general advice.

Ok thanks we are going to go down this route. I’m assuming Halifax AIP aren’t reliable?
  • No AIP is worth very much at all.

I’ve read different threads regarding AIP not worth the paper they’re written on. Thanks for your help.
