  • Hi,

FYI: I'm on Sky 16MB Unlimited using their Netgear Wireless Router and apart from the odd drop in speeds on some days I get really good speeds wire free.

    From todays test
    Download Speed: 9635 kbps (1204.4 KB/sec ) Upload Speed: 561 kbps (70.1 KB/sec )
    Problem of the week!

My laptop keeps on telling me it has an ip address conflict with another computer on my network and its driving me mad trying to sort it out!!! Any suggestions PM me please!

It says I am getting between 1.2/ 1.3 Mb. And that I should be able to get 5.4 Mb on my line.

I suppose 5.4Mb is worth an extra fiver, which is what sky will charge me.

So, I assume that the fact I am using my laptop wirelessly won't affect the speed, i.e I will get about 5.4 mb on both the pc (wired) and the lappy?

Just remember it stating you "SHOULD" get 5.4 doesnt neccesarily mean you WILL get that. There are a lot more factors to consider

    Really?
I thought mine showed all of the services available in the area, including the speeds available from your exchange and a map illustrating your proximity to the exchange as well as the distance.
It only tells you: example, 1mb or greater......not very useful, the other site shows maximum, ie up to 2mb, which is more useful:p
